Through interactive exchange and guided learning, participants deepened their understanding of how to create a safe and meaningful space for children to grow, connect, and learn.

Play Therapy-based Emotional and Social Group

Project SOAR’s Play Therapy-based Emotional and Social Group provides a safe and supportive space where children can learn to understand their feelings, build social confidence, and develop positive relationships with others. Through carefully guided activities, children are encouraged to explore emotions, practise self-regulation, and strengthen their communication and interaction skills in a gentle and structured environment.

The group is designed to help children grow through play, connection, and meaningful interaction. With the support of trained facilitators, children take part in activities that promote emotional awareness, turn-taking, cooperation, empathy, and problem-solving. These experiences help them gradually build confidence and learn how to engage with others in healthier and more positive ways.

At the heart of the group is a child-centred approach that values each child’s pace, needs, and strengths. Rather than focusing only on behaviour, the group creates opportunities for children to feel safe, seen, and understood while developing the social and emotional skills they need for everyday life.

Project SOAR believes that when children are supported in a caring and structured group setting, they are better able to grow in resilience, self-awareness, and social connection. This group is one of the ways we continue to walk alongside children and families with empathy, patience, and hope.
